435 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND NORRIS, William John “Bill” Bill was born on May 2, 1930 in Preston, England and later immigrated to St. Clements, Ontario. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on January 17, 1951. He did his basic training at Camp Borden, and then was sent to Fort Lewis, Washington for advanced training. Shortly he was on the USNS Marine Adder as part of the Twenty-fifth Canadian Infantry Brigade on their way to Korea. Bill received the Canadian Korea Medal and the United Nations Service Medal Korea. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion in Kitchener, Ontario. Bill passed away on September 3, 1986. NYSTROM, Ames B. Ames was born in Hyas, Saskatchewan on March 8, 1927. He enlisted in the Special Force on August 17, 1950. He served in Canada, USA, Korea and Japan. Ames was in the Battle of Kapyong where the 2nd Battalion PPCLI won the Presidential Citation. He was discharged on April 8, 1952. He has been a Life Member of Bewdley Legion Branch 577, Past President of Bewdley Legion Branch 577, Past President of the Korea Veterans Association Unit 9 and a member of Canton Cenotaph committee for 25 years. He now lives in Garden Hill, ON. NOWAK, Stanley Stanley was born in Youngstown, Ohio on January 20, 1921. He enlisted in the Air Force on October 25, 1941 and served as a Radar Operator in Canada and Newfoundland. He was discharged on October 26, 1945. Stanley has been a member of Onaping Falls Legion Branch 503 for seventy years.
