425 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MURRAY, Brian Robert Brian was born in Sarnia, Ontario on February 17, 1964. He joined the Canadian Forces on August 20, 1985 as a Supply Technician. He served with 2 Service Battalion Petawawa and SSF HQ & Signals Sqn Petawawa from 1986 to 1991. Brian served on HMCS Kootenay from 1991 to 1994, HMCS Huron from 1996 to 1999, and HMCS Ottawa from 2003 to 2005. The homeport for all three ships was CFB Esquimalt. He had various shore postings CFB Esquimalt Base Supply between 1994 and 2003. Brian also served with the United Nations in Former Yugoslavia in 1995 and Golan Heights (UNDOF) in 2000. He retired from the Canadian Forces in 2005. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Britannia Branch 7 Victoria, BC from 2006 to 2008 and became a member of Branch 109 Goderich, ON in 2008. Brian is currently Sgt at Arms at Branch 109. NADJIWAN, Robert Ernest “Ernie” Ernie was born in Parry Sound, Ontario on June 13, 1931. He enlisted in the Canadian Forces on November 12, 1951. He served in Canada, Yemen and Egypt during Peacetime. He was discharged in June 1986. Ernie was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation and gold bar by the Minister of Veterans Affairs. He married Lillian in 1952 and together they raised six children. Ernie is a Life Member with the RCL and has served on the Executive at his local legion, in various positions. He supervised aircraft repair hangar serviced at NDHQ for ten years. He retired in 1986 and was a volunteer firefighter for five years. He served as councillor on the local government and was chairman on the local education committee in his community for four years. Ernie served as building chairman on the senior’s complex which is operational, was responsible for updating the cenotaph in his home town and was responsible for organizing all legion parades when it was required. He has been a member of Wiarton Legion Branch 208 for 47 years. MYERS, Elizabeth Elizabeth was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on December 2, 1920. She enlisted in the Air Force on September 18, 1942 and was stationed at the Eastern Air Command in Halifax, NS during World War II. Elizabeth was discharged on November 14, 1945. After her discharge, she went back home and worked with challenged children. Elizabeth is currently a Life Member of Massey Legion Branch 432 and has been a member of this branch for 27 years.
