415 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MORRISON, Allan I. Allan was born in Medina, East Zorra Township, Ontario on November 26, 1896. He enlisted in the Army on May 14, 1914 and served in Simcoe and Brantford, Ontario during World War I. He owned and operated a harness shop and shoe making business in Lakeside, St Marys, Aylmer and Tillsonburg. He was living in Tillsonburg when he passed away on February 13, 1968. MORRISON, George George was born in Wartle, Aberdeenshire, Scotland in September 1888. He was living in Toronto, Ontario when he enlisted at the age of 27. George became a member of the 92nd O.S. Battalion, 48th Highlanders C.E.T. on August 24, 1915. He embarked from Halifax, Nova Scotia on the “Empress of Britain” on May 20, 1916 and disembarked in England on May 29, 1916, joining the 13th Canadian Battalion arriving in France on August 28, 1916. George was reported missing in action on October 8, 1916, later confirmed killed in action on October 4, 1917. Private George Morrison now rests at Adanac Military Cemetery, in Miraumont, Somme, France. MORRISON, Douglas A. Douglas was born on August 12, 1923. He enlisted in the Army and served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. He served with the Highland Light Infantry of Canada and received a citation for gallantry from Field Marshall Montgomery, Commander-inChief of the 21st Army Group. Sergeant Morrison was a member of Simcoe Legion Branch 79. Douglas passed away in April 1978.
