413 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MOODY, Arthur A. “Art” Arthur was born in Erin, Ontario on August 29, 1924. He enlisted in the Air Force in June 1944. He was part of the largest mass movement during World War II with Husky Squadron #437 in Europe. This Squadron helped liberate three thousand Canadian prisoners of war. He was released on July 24, 1946 and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, France and Germany Star, and the Defence Medal. Upon his return to Canada, he was a driver for a local creamery before entering the York Police Force. Art was very active in a variety of roles in the Legion as well as a member of Masons and the Shriners. He was a Rameses and Aahmes in California Shriners Temple Ambassador. Art has been a member of Tottenham Legion Branch 329, Campbellford Legion Branch 103 and a Life Member of Mount Albert Legion Branch 382 for a total of 67 years. MORGAN, Lee P. Lee was born in Amherstburg, Ontario on June 15, 1925. He enlisted in the Air Force on May 8, 1943 and served with the 419 Squadron RCAF as Tail Gunner in Canadian Lancaster in England during World War II. He was discharged in 1945. Lee has been a member of Bay Ridges Legion Branch 606 for 26 years. MORGAN, Edward J. Edward was born in New York, USA on August 15, 1925. He enlisted in the Army on March 17, 1944 with the Essex Scot R.C.I.C. and served in Canada, England and Europe during World War II. Edward was killed in action in Germany on March 1, 1945.
