409 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MITCHELL, Albert E. Albert was born in Toronto, Ontario on January 26, 1908. He enlisted in the Army London, Ontario and transferred back to Woodstock to A Army Building on the corner of Raghan St and Waterlow St. which was the WAC Building for training for Med. Special Hospital then to England for more training. He served in England, landing at Dieppe and later Normandy during World War II. Cpl. A. E. Mitchell passed away on November 14, 1987. MOAR, Gerald “Gerry” Gerald was born in Chatham, NB on December 24, 1919. He enlisted in the Army in 1940 and served in the Canadian Infantry, No 26 Basic Training Centre, Orillia during World War II. Sergeant Moar was discharged in 1945 and was awarded the 1939-45 Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and Defence Medal. Gerry met his future wife at a canteen in Orillia and married her. After his discharge, Gerry and his wife moved to Kapuskasing, Ontario where he was employed by a large paper company. He was a member of Kapuskasing Legion Branch 85 for over thirty years. Gerald passed away on June 26, 1988. MITCHELL, Thomas Crosby Thomas was born in Greenock, Scotland on April 24, 1940. He enlisted in the Army in November 1963 and served with the 56th Field Artillery Regiment in Canada during Peacetime. He was discharged in February 1966. Thomas has been a member of Meaford Legion Branch 32 for 32 years.
