407 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MILLER, Bruce W. Bruce was born in Toronto, York County, Ontario on July 1, 1925. He enlisted in the Army on January 13, 1944 and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers, 1st Canadian Field Squadron, 5th Canadian Armoured Division in Canada, United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean and Continental Europe during World War II. He was discharged on May 29, 1946. After the war, he returned home to his wife of three years and worked for his previous employer, Goodyear Tires. He built a home to raise three children. Bruce was a devoted husband of 64 years and 6 months, loving father who watched his children grow and marry and a grandfather who also watched his grandchildren grow and marry. He was a cherished great grandfather. Bruce passed away on May 17, 2008. MINK, George F. George was born in Sullivan Township, Grey County, Ontario on October 14, 1893. He enlisted in the Army on January 6, 1916 and served with the 160th Battalion, Comp. B in Canada and France during World War I. He was discharged in January 1919. He was a member of Chesley Legion Branch 144. George passed away in 1980. MILLS, John D. John was born in Springfield, Ontario on January 17, 1892. He enlisted in the Army on March 27, 1915 and served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps, 4th Canadian General Hospital in Canada, England and Egypt during World War I. He was a medical student and enlisted in the Army. He was discharged on December 31, 1917 for medical reasons. After the war, John became a doctor and was head of surgery at Sunnybrook Hospital. He married Mary McKinnon in 1922 and they had one child, Mary (1923). John passed away on March 25, 1981.
