389 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND McINTOSH, Louis Louis was born in Central New Annan, Colchester Co., Nova Scotia on June 20, 1919. He enlisted in the Army on October 9, 1941 and served in Canada, United Kingdom, and Continental Europe during World War II. He was discharged on March 27, 1946 and was awarded the 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, and Vol. Defence Star. After his discharge, he moved to Wawa and worked in operations at Algoma Ore Iron Ore. He was a member of Wawa Legion Branch for over fifty years. Louis passed away on June 8, 2009. McKILLOP, Malcolm A. Malcolm was born in Elderslie Township, Bruce County on April 22, 1883. He enlisted in the Army in February 1916 and served with the 160 Battalion in Canada, England and France during World War I. Malcolm was discharged in April 1919. He was a member of Chesley Legion Branch 144. Malcolm passed away in October 1970. McKEEN, Doris Doris was born in the small town of Ailsa Craig on March 14, 1923. At age eighteen, Doris enlisted in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps Service on July 12, 1942. Doris received her basic training in London and Quebec but could not go overseas until she was nineteen years of age. She was sent to London, England and spent much of her service chauffeuring Brass in black-outs and the odd V1 and V2 rocket attaches during World War II. Doris returned home on the Queen Elizabeth in January 1946. Her medals include the Defence Medal, 1939-1945 Canadian Forces Volunteer Medal and Clasp and the War Medal. Doris was honourably discharged on February 22, 1946. She was a member of Sir Arthur Currie Legion Branch 116 for 32 years. Doris passed away on August 19, 1997.
