301 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND JACKSON, Norman Leroy Norman was born in Kettle Point on January 23, 1931. He enlisted in the Army and served in Canada and in Korea for over three years as an Auto Mechanic. He was discharged on May 4, 1955 and was awarded the United Nations Service Medal and the War Service Badge “Service Class”. Norman has been a member of the Thedford Legion Branch for twenty years. JACQUES, William Henry William was born on September 2, 1917 in Newbliss, Ontario, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jacques of Delta, ON. He enlisted in the Army and served with the S D & G Highlanders, RCIC in France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands during World War II. He married Olia Jackson of Brockville, before going overseas. William was wounded during his service and died of his injuries in Belgium on November 1, 1944, one week before he was to come home. He is buried in Adegem Canadian War Cemetery in Belgium. He is on page 344 in the Book of Remembrance (WWII) in Parliament Hill, Ottawa. JACKSON, Thomas F. Thomas was born in Chislehurst, County of Kent, England on June 8, 1895. He enlisted in the Army on September 16, 1914 and served with the Royal Fusiliers Labour Corps for 3.35 years during World War I. He served three tours in France from September 2, 1915 to October 1, 1915, from February 17, 1916 to July 4, 1916, and again from October 11, 1916 to May 18, 1917. He was discharged on August 18, 1918. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. Thomas passed away on March 8, 1980.
