261 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND HARRIS (ANDERSON), Mary Mary was born in Toronto, Ontario on November 18, 1923. She enlisted in the Air Force on October 22, 1943 and served during World War II with the LAW RCAF service Photographic section in Canada: Rockcliffe, Aylmer and Fingal, ON and in Boundry Bay, BC. She was discharged on November 8, 1945. Mary lived and worked at the family resort, Woodington House, before and after World War II. She wrote a book called “What Katy Did” about her experiences in the Air Force and her life in Muskoka during the 1930’s and 1940’s. Mary enjoyed travelling to Air Force reunions. The Canadian Air Force helped shape her into the wonderful person she was. She was a member of the Scarborough Legion Branch. Mary passed away on June 15, 2011. HARRON, Charles A. “Bud” Charles was born on March 5, 1904 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on June 12, 1940 and served with the RCEME Lake Superior Regiment in Canada, England and Europe during World War II. He was discharged on September 27, 1945 and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the 1939-45 Star. Charles moved to Wawa at war’s end and worked as an industrial mechanic at Algoma Ore Division. He was a member of Wawa Legion Branch 429 for 24 years. Charles passed away on June 6, 1989. HARRISON, K. Gordon Gordon was born in Ottawa, Ontario on March 20, 1934. He served with G.G.F.G. Reserve from 1949 to 1951 and he then enlisted in the Army on November 6, 1951. He served with the RCASC in Canada, USA and Korea. He was discharged on November 6, 1954 and was awarded the UN Korean Medal, UN Service Medal, CVSM, Canadian Peace Keeping Medal, and the Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal. Gordon has been a member of Westboro Legion Branch 480 for over 27 years.
