87 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND CALCUTT, Robert J. Robert was born on January 18, 1927 in Strathroy, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on January 18, 1945. He served as an infantryman with the Royal Canadian Regiment. He trained at Chatham, Ipperwash and Brockville. He was discharged at the rank of Private on February 22, 1946. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He was a member of Sir Arthur Currie Legion Branch 116 for 38 years. Robert passed away on April 7, 1988. CAMPBELL, Edgar J. Edgar was born on May 29, 1899 in Lambton County, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on May 29, 1918. He served as a sapper with the 11th Canadian Engineers and the Canadian Expeditionary Force in France and Belgium during World War I. He was gassed at the front lines. He was discharged on June 16, 1919 and was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal from King George at Buckingham Palace. After the war, he returned to Sarnia and married. He worked at Imperial Oil as Fire Chief. Edgar passed away on February 23, 1976. CALDERONE, James J. James was born on January 20, 1931 in Toronto, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in 1952 and served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Air Borne in Korea. He was discharged in 1969. James has been a member of Millbrook Legion Branch 402 for 21 years.
