425 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND RAWDING, Charles A. Charles was born on December 18, 1925 in Berwick, NS. He enlisted in the Army on March 22, 1943 and served with the R.C.A.S.C. in England during World War II. He took basic training in Yarmouth, NS and advanced training in #14 CITC in Aldershott, NS. He was a driving instructor in Elstead, England. He is a member of the Huntsville Legion Branch 232. RAYMOND, Mansell David Mansell was born in Orillia Township, Ontario on March 21, 1919. He enlisted on March 2, 1942 with the Canadian Voluntary Army No. 2 District Depot CA RCCS. He was wounded on April 30, 1944 with shell wounds to his arms, his left foot and stomach. He was discharged on February 6, 1945. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He received the five following medals: 1939 – 1945 Service Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Voluntary Service Medal, World War II Medal and honorary discharge bar. He was a member of the Beaverbrook Legion Branch 316 for 60 years. Mansell passed away on August 21, 2009. RAWSON, Glen C. A. Glen was born in Brandon, MB on January 16, 1917. He learned to fly at the Brandon Flying Club in 1938. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940 and trained under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, receiving his wings at Camp Borden in 1940. He was a flying instructor until 1945. He returned to the RCAF in 1949 and served until 1962. He was awarded the AFC CD and the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. He resides in Hanover.
