He enlisted in the Army on June of 1983 and served in Canada during Peacetime with the 763 Comm. Squadron and the Highlanders of Ottawa. He was discharged on July of 1985. He is a member of the Brooklin Legion Branch 152. POPOVITCH, John W. John was born on November 17, 1923 in Timmons, Ontario. He enlisted in the Air Force on April 1, 1943. He served during World War II as a Flying Officer on the Lancaster plane. He was discharged on October 10, 1945. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the Wireless Air Gunner’s Badge. John was a member of the Legion Branch 419. He passed away on March 15, 1982. POPE, Walter T. Walter was born on October 8, 1926 in Toronto, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army and served in Canada during World War II. After his discharge, he went to school and became a carpenter. He got married in 1954 to Teresa and they had six children. She passed away on January 29, 2014. Teresa was the past President of the Legion from 1991 to 1993. Walter has been a member of the Legion for thirty-six years.
