407 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PERRY, Henry G. Henry was born in Franktown, Ontario in 1920. He joined the Ontario Regiment militia in January of 1940 and enlisted in the Canadian regular Army in June of 1942. Henry “shipped out” in December of 1942 and arrived in Gorrick, Scotland after four days. After completing training and military workshops, Henry was deployed to France, Belgium and Holland in 1944. With peace declared, Henry returned to Canada in September of 1945. Henry was awarded the C.V.S.M. with Overseas Bar, 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Victory Medal, 19391945 War Medal, Normandy Medal and the Defence Medal. Upon return from war, Henry became active in his local community. He served as Chairman of the Whitby Public School Board, was President of the Ontario Regiment Association and served in executive capacities for The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112 for over fifty years. Henry was recognized by the town of Whitby and received the Peter Perry award for outstanding citizenship. He received the Confederation Medal and the Ontario Trillium Award for his lifetime civil service volunteer activities. PETERS, Walter J. Walter was born on July 3, 1931. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1949. Walter served as an aircraft technician on many of Canada’s combat aircrafts including CF100, CF104 and Lancaster. He retired in 1976 with full honours after 27 years. He has been a member of the Legion Branches 419 and 457 for 15 years. PERRY, Robert H. Robert was born on May 25, 1924 in Forest, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on November 2, 1942. He served in the Mediterranean, Italy, France, Germany and the United Kingdom during World War II. He was discharged on March 1, 1946. After the War, Bob and his wife, Gladys, moved from Sarnia to raise their two children in rural Brigden. Bob retired from Polymer in Sarnia. Bob is a true gentleman and is loved and respected by those of his friends at Branch 635 Brigden.
