403 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PATTISON, Albert Albert was born in Peterborough, Ontario on March 14, 1880. He enlisted in World War I as a Private with the 141st Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force and served in Canada and in England. Albert passed away on July 20, 1960 at the age of eighty. His son Levi Pattison served in World War II. No further information is available. PELKY, Felix Felix was born on June 6, 1892 in Belleville, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in 1916. He served in France during World War I with the 134 11th CRT and was a member of the Highland Pipe Band. The following is a letter to his wife Alice Pelkey from General SC Mewburn, Minister of Militia and Defence for Canada: “I desire to express to you my very sincere sympathy in the recent decease of your husband, Pte Felix Pelkey, 11th CRT, who in sacrificing his life at the front in action with the enemy has tendered the highest of service of a worthy citizen. The heavy loss which you and the nation have sustained would indeed be depressing were it not redeemed by the knowledge that the brave comrade for whom we mourn performed his duties fearlessly and well, became a good soldier and gave his life for the great cause of human liberty and the defence of the Empire. Again extending to you in your bereavement my condolence and heartfelt sympathy.” Felix was killed in action on April 13, 1918. PATTISON, Levi Levi was born in Emo, Ontario on February 27, 1912. He enlisted at the #10 District Depot Canadian Army (Active) on July 13, 1942 in Port Arthur, ON as a Private. The oldest of five brothers, he was the only one to enlist. Levi’s service units covered areas including Winnipeg, Valcartier, Camrose, Alberta; Vancouver, Combat Army Training Center Shilo, Manitoba; #1 Field Regiment Debert and Overseas duty in Scotland. On December 10, 1944, he was transferred to the Royal Canadian Artillery. Due to demobilization, Levi was honourably discharged on March 19, 1946 at the rank of Gunner. His medals include the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, Defence Medal and the War Medal 1939-45. Levi was a Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 99 in Emo. He passed away on March 31, 1996 at the age of 84. Levi’s father, Albert Pattison, served in World War I.
