373 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MUNDLE, Robert “Bob” Bob was born in Derby Township, Ontario on July 28, 1898. He enlisted in the Army in 1917 and served with the 147th Battalion in Canada and in France during World War I. Bob was killed in action on August 31, 1918 with his brother William “Bill” by the same bomb. He is buried in Vis-enArtois British Cemetery Haucourt, Pas de Calais, France. MUNTON, Anthony “Tony” Tony was born in Lincoln, England on January 11, 1942. He enlisted in the Navy in September of 1958 and served in Aden – Singapore as Aircraft Artificer onboard HMS Ark Royal and HMS Albion during peacetime. He was discharged in January of 1982. Tony has been a member of the Tottenham Legion Branch 329 for 26 years. MUNGHAM, James Richard “Dick” James was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 20, 1925 and grew up in Orillia where he belonged to Orillia Air Cadets. He enlisted in the Air Force on October 2, 1942 and was posted overseas in England and in France with R.A.F. in T.A.F. as a Wireless Air Gunner during World War II. He reenlisted in the Regular Force in 1954 until 1965 (ground observer corp.). His awards are the following: Air Gunner’s Badge, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, War Medal 1939-45, Order of the Hospital of St. John (Serving Brother), Canadian Forces Decoration and Commemorative Bar for Veterans of Bomber Command. Upon returning from the Air Force, he did public relations with United Appeal in Toronto, National Director of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and Justice of the Peace in the Toronto and Scarborough area. James passed away on February 12, 1998.
