369 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MORIN, Albert Joseph Albert was born on May 28, 1907 in Mattawa, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Engineers on January 6, 1942 at Toronto. Albert completed his basic training at North Bay and advanced training at Petawawa. He qualified as pioneer and as carpenter. He proceeded overseas on May 17, 1942 with the 3rd Battalion Royal Canadian Engineers. He was then posted to 1st Battalion of the Construction Engineer Reinforcement Unit on August 26, 1942. Albert was employed as Librarian for four months and in the Pay Office for seven months. He was transferred to first Battalion of the Canadian General Reinforcement Unit, #6 Const. Company for duties as carpenter. He returned from overseas on January 31, 1944 and was posted to re-establishment wing #2 D.D. on April 12, 1944. He was discharged and returned to civilian life on May 13, 1944. Albert passed away on October 28, 1980. MORRISON, Clarence W. Clarence was born in Meldrum Bay, Ontario on June 3, 1916. He enlisted in the Army on January 24, 1944. He served as a Private with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. He was discharged on September 21, 1946. He was awarded the France and Germany Star, War Medal and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. When he returned to civilian life, he became a full time farmer. Clarence passed away on September 24, 2005. MORLEY, Desmond E. “Des” Desmond was born in Montreal, Quebec on July 2, 1926. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1944 with the No. 34 Elementary Flying and Training School during World War II. He served with the rank of LAC in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. Des was trained to become an Air Gunner, however the war came to an end before he saw any action. He was discharged in 1945. After the war, Des moved to Kapuskasing where he was employed by a large paper company and remained there until his retirement after working for more than forty years. He was also very active at Branch 85 in Kapuskasing serving on the Executive for thirteen years. He was a member at Branch 85 for more than sixty years. Des passed away on July 19, 2006.
