331 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND McGAUGHEY, James Lewis “Jim” James was born in Little Current, Ontario on November 14, 1917. He joined the Army on September 15, 1941 and served during World War II in Canada, Britain, the Central Mediterranean area and North West Europe. James was a prisoner of war. He was discharged on November 20, 1945. He received the following medals: 1939 – 1945 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the War Medal 1939 – 1945. Jim suffered on a daily basis with psychoneurosis and depression attributable to active force services. He did not share any war stories. He was a member of the Little Current Legion Branch for several years before he passed away on October 6, 2005. McGUIRE, Philip F. Philip was born in Brant Township on February 19, 1920. He enlisted in the Army on August 22, 1941 and served with the 12th Field Co. Royal Canadian Engineers in England, Sicily, Italy, Netherlands and Germany during World War II. He was discharged on October 15, 1945. He was a member of the Chesley Legion Branch 144 for 57 years before he passed away on July 31, 2005. McGIBBON, J. Alexander Alexander was born in Robinson Township, Manitoulin District on June 4, 1896. He enlisted in the Army and served in Canada during World War I. Alexander was discharged in 1918 and passed away on April 16, 1925.
