281 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND LEDGERWOOD, Alexander W. Alexander was born on January 10, 1926 in Arnprior, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in July 1943 and served with the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment and the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in Canada, Korea and Germany. He was discharged in March 1971. Alexander was a member of the Legion for over 30 years until he passed away on March 24, 1996. LEFEBVRE, Ron Ron was born on September 1, 1937 in Alexandria, ON. At the age of 19, he enlisted in the Army on January 19, 1957 and served with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signal. After basic training and a course in teletype at Vimy Barracks in Kingston, ON, he was posted to the Signals Squadron in Camp Gagetown, NB as a teletype operator. During this time, he attended the Jr. NCO course in Halifax, NS. In 1959, he was posted to Signals Squadron in Kingston. In August 1960, Ron was posted to the Congo on a UN Peacekeeping Mission for nine months, after which he returned to Kingston. In November 1964, he was posted to the island of Cyprus for a six month tour on another UN Peacekeeping Mission whereupon he returned to Kingston. After nine years of service, Ron took his release on January 14, 1966 to become the Post Master in the Village of Lancaster, ON. LEDGERWOOD, Ken W. J. Ken was born on March 22, 1929. He joined the Army and served two tours in Korea with the Royal Canadian Medical Corps and held the office of Quartermaster, Canadian Airborne Forces. He was a member of Simcoe Legion Branch 79. Ken passed away on July 22, 1990.
