257 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND JOKINEN, Frederick Frederick was born on July 23, 1926 on the Algoma R.R. He enlisted in the Army on November 3, 1944. He served with the Kent Regiment during World War II. Private Jokinen was discharged on May 13, 1946 and was awarded the Defence Medal. After being discharged, he returned to Kapuskasing and resumed employment at Spruce Falls Power and Paper Company Ltd. and worked there for almost 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of Kapuskasing Legion Branch 85 for over 50 years. Frederick passed away on November 7, 2004. JUBINVILLE, Gary F. Gary was born on August 1, 1943 in Windsor, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on December 14, 1961. He served aboard HMCS Iroquois, HMCS Haida, HMCS Crescent and was part of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. He was discharged on December 17, 1964. Gary has been a member of Captain Brien Legion Branch 201 for 5 years. JONES, George William George was born on May 6, 1919 in Toronto, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on April 9, 1942. He served as a communications expert with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry during World War II. He was stationed in Prince Rupert and Nanaimo, Vancouver. He was discharged on January 21, 1946. George passed away on March 27, 2005.
