245 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND INGRAM, Robert James Robert was born on December 8, 1920 in Toronto, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on August 29, 1941. He served as a Navigation Officer on the HMCS Ingonish and HMCS West York from 1942 until his discharge in 1945. He was married during the war and had two daughters. Subsequently his career was dedicated to Credit Unions, eventually becoming executive director of the National Association of Credit Unions. He travelled extensively throughout the world advising and helping to establish credit unions and co-operatives. Robert served on a number of committees for CUNA and the World Council of Credit Unions. After retirement, he continued with his overseas development work as a consultant and also became involved in his community of Burlington doing volunteer work as well as serving on the boards of CARE Canada, the Asthma Society, and U.C.O. Robert passed away on July 5, 2011. JACKSON, Leonard W. Leonard was born on March 26, 1888 in Chalk River, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army and served with the 103 Company, Canadian Forestry Corps in Europe during World War I. After the war, he returned home to a farm in Marksday, ON. Leonard died on December 1, 1922. JACK, John Lancelot John was born on April 28, 1887 in the Township of Lefroy-Algoma, Rydal Bank, ON. He enlisted in the Army on August 8, 1916. He served with the 119th Battalion in England. He served in World War I and World War II. He brought home a wife from England and worked in the saw mill. After World War II, he returned home and cooked in the lumber camps. He had one daughter. He was a member of Bruce Mines Legion Branch 211 for 10 years. John passed away on August 21, 1971.
