He served with the Canadian Armoured Corps in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, and the Central Mediterranean area during World War II. He was a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419. James passed away on October 26, 2002. HAMILL, Gavin John John was born on February 22, 1921 in Niagara Falls, ON. He enlisted in the Army in February 1940. He served with Perth Regiment, Section 1 in Holland, Germany, Italy, France, and Great Britain during World War II. He was shot in Holland and his arm was hanging from his shoulder 10 days before the end of the war. He was sent to a make-shift hospital in Belgium for 3 days before being sent to England in the last week of May 1945. He was recovering from his injuries until August 1945 and was sent home to Canada. He was discharged in August 1945. John was a member of A. C. McCallum Legion Branch 479 for 14 years. HALE, Earnest W. Earnest was born on June 27, 1919 in Toronto, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in 1939. He served with the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment in Europe during World War II. He was discharged in 1946. He was a member of Oshawa Legion Branch 43 for 39 years. Earnest passed away on December 18, 1985.
