395 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND YOUNG, William O. William was born in Gore Bay, Manitoulin Island, ON on May 28, although the year of his birth is unknown at the time of publication. William served his country with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. ZAPOROZAN, John John was born in Sarto, MB on September 2, 1923. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army, 30th R.E.C.C.E. Regiment in May 1942 and served in Canada. At one point, he was a passenger in a jeep that was involved in an accident in which the driver was killed and John broke both of his legs. He was discharged on March 16, 1944. John had been a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419 for twenty years before he passed away on April 4, 1979. ZAMULINSKI, Ronald E. Ronald was born in Saskatoon, SK on December 5, 1943. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on March 9, 1962 and served with Royal Canadian Horse Artillery until March 1965. He was stationed in Winnipeg, MB and Rogers Pass, BC where he shot down avalanches. He was also on stand by for the Cuba Crisis until his regiment received the stand down orders. After his time in the Army, Ronald became a Police constable for three years and was stationed in northern Saskatchewan. He then worked for a major wholesale company in Western Canada for 35 years. Ronald has been a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419 for 26 years.
