In 1941, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with No. 8 Squadron as a radar technician during World War II. He was discharged in 1945. He used the skills he had learned as a radar technician to fix and repair radios and televisions. He was a member of Ferris Legion Branch 430 and Kincardine Legion Branch 183 for 60 years. Charles passed away on February 8, 2007. TURCOTTE, Arthur J. F. Arthur was born in Saint-Malachie, QC on September 12, 1916. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on September 20, 1943 and served with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. Lance Corporal Turcotte was discharged in March 1946. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Holland Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. He was a member of Kapuskasing Legion Branch 85 for over 30 years. Arthur passed away on July 7, 1993. TRUMAN, William E. William was born on June 29, 1947 in Kingston, ON. On February 27, 1966, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army. He served with the Royal Canadian Regiment and did peace keeping tours in Germany, Cyprus and Norway. Warrant Officer Truman was discharged on July 30, 1993 and was awarded the Queen Silver Jubilee Medal for the work he did for charities. After his service, he ran a small moving business in Kingston for 24 years. William has been a member of Amherstview Legion Branch 631 for 40 years.
