He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on August 21, 1944 and served with No. 20 Canadian Army Training Centre, 2nd Platoon, A Company. Private Richard guarded prisoners in various locations in Ontario and Quebec before he was discharged on August 13, 1946. His awards included the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the Defense Medal. He was a member of Kapuskasing Legion Branch 85 for over 40 years. Edward passed away on February 28, 2002. RICHARDS, Geoffrey W. G. Geoffrey was born in Mufulira, Zambia on June 29, 1950. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on April 19, 1968 and served on HMCS Columbia, HMCS Saskatchewan and HMCS Skeena in the North Atlantic as a watch keeper and anti-submarine air traffic controller. He was discharged on August 1, 1971 and went on to sail his own boat around the world. Geoffrey has been a member of Last Post Legion Branch 410 for 12 years. RICHARD, Rhéal J. Rhéal was born on August 8, 1941 in Kapuskasing, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on March 8, 1961 and served with the Royal 22nd Regiment as a wireless operator. After his discharge on March 19, 1961, he returned to Kapuskasing where he worked for a local paper company. Rhéal has been a member of Kapuskasing Legion Branch 85 for 2 years.
