He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in March 1955 and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers attached to Airborne in Aden, Singapore, Kuwait, Cyprus and Bahrain. He was discharged in 1964. After immigrating to Canada, he worked for an international courier company. David has been a member of Tottenham Legion Branch 329 for 24 years. RASPBERRY, Edmund Manny Edmund was born on March 1, 1944 in Leamington, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Army on August 9, 1960 under the Soldier Apprentice plan that provided academic and military training for 16 year old males. Within two years, he transferred to the Army Physical Training Staff. During the next 35 years he was posted to several bases within Canada including the Canadian Forces School of Physical Education and recreation as Deputy Commandant / Chief Instructor after receiving his promotion to Captain. He was appointed as a Member of the Order of Military Merit in 1993. After his long years of service with the military, he worked with the new civilian organization as the Fitness and Sports Director in Trenton, ON for 10 years. He accompanied several Entertainment Tours as an escort officer in Bosnia, Croatia, Germany, the United Arab Republic, Afghanistan and Haiti. Edmund has been a member of Trenton Legion Branch 110 for 2 years. RAPER, Herbert Herbert was born on December 12, 1894 in Edinburg, Scotland. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on April 29, 1916 and served with the 12th Battalion of the Royal Canadian Engineers in Europe during World War I. He sailed to Liverpool, England on July 24, 1916 and arrived in France on November 18, 1916 and survived a German gas attack while serving there. After his discharge on June 15, 1919, he was active in the Sappers Club of Toronto, ON and served as President in 1942-43. Sergeant Herbert Raper passed away on March 22, 1962.
