311 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PURDY, Gordon H. Gordon was born in Alberton, PE on August 11, 1919. He joined the Royal Canadian Army in 1939 and served with the Canadian Dental Corps in England and Germany during World War II. After his discharge in 1947, he went on to work in the dentistry department of the Sunnybrook Hospital. Gordon passed away on July 14, 1961. RAMSEY, Donald A. Donald was born on May 26, 1943 in Ottawa, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in August 1960. During his military service he served on HMCS Athabascan during the Cuban Missile Crisis; HMCS Gatineau; and HMCS Bonaventure to take the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry to Cyprus in 1964. After his discharge in 1965, he went on to work in polymer engineering and processing for 30 years. Donald has been a member of Port Hope Legion Branch 30 and Cobourg Legion Branch 133 for 16 years. RAMSEY, Alex W. Alex was born on February 21, 1912 in Cornwall, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1940 and served on HMCS Uganda in the North Atlantic and the Pacific during World War II. He was discharged in 1945. He was a member of Port Hope Legion Branch 30 for 32 years. Alex passed away on January 10, 1987.
