309 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PRYNE, John S. John was born on October 1, 1928 in Toronto, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in December 1952. He served with the Royal Canadian Signal Corps with the Dispatch Rider Display Team on Motorcycle for recruiting purposes and performed shows all over Canada. He did not see active duty as the Korean War ended before he went overseas. Upon his discharge, he furthered his career in security. John has been a member of Hastings Legion Branch 106 for 44 years. PURDY, Frank Frank was born in Alberton, PE in 1910. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Flight Lieutenant overseas during World War II. After he was discharged in 1945, he moved to Toronto where he owned and operated a convalescence hospital with his wife. Frank passed away in May 1961. PURDY, Douglas S. Douglas was born in Alberton, PE on July 14, 1915. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1941 and served as a stoker in the high seas during World War II. After his discharge in 1944, he returned to Canada and was on special duties at which time he received a head injury. Douglas resided in Toronto, ON until he passed away on November 2, 1962.
