305 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND POTTER, George H. George was born on August 13, 1926 in Toronto, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on February 23, 1944. He served with the 48 Highlander Reserve for 18 months before deciding he wanted to serve in the Navy. He served as a stoker on the HMCS New Glasgow. When the war ended, he was in Shelburne, NS when one of the German U-Boats came to surrender. He married Lois on August 3, 1946 and had four children. George has been a member of Milton Wesley Legion Branch 426 for 41 years. PRINGLE, Truman R. Truman was born on September 26, 1921 in Spanish, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on November 5, 1941 and served with the Royal Canadian Service Corps in France, England, Italy, Holland, Belgium and Central Mediterranean. He was discharged on January 22, 1946 became a member of Sault Ste Marie Legion Branch 25 and Spanish Legion Branch 576 for a total of 50 years. Truman passed away on January 5, 2007. PRIDDLE, Franklin G. Franklin was born on September 20, 1921 in Silver Water, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Army in 1943 and served in England and Holland during World War II. Franklin was discharged in 1945. He was a member of Western Manitoulin Legion Branch 514. Franklin passed away on July 6, 2007.
