He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on July 15, 1975 and served with the Communications and Electronics Branch in Cyprus, Egypt, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. He retired in 2004 after 30 years of service. He has been a member of Waterford Legion Branch 123 for 35 years. Herb has lived in Kingston where he was involved in managing the truck shop at the military communications and electronics museum. POSTILL, Richard W. Richard was born on October 2, 1959 in Brantford, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in February 1976. He served with the Royal Canadian Artillery and the Canadian Airborne Regiment in Europe and the United States. He was discharged in June 1996 and was awarded the Canadian Forces Decorations and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Richard has been a member of Waterford Legion Branch 126 for 37 years. POSTILL, Neil R. Neil was born on March 9, 1919 in Burford, ON. As a farmer’s son and with a slight heart murmur, he was not accepted into the military until the later days of the war. He finally was able to enlist in early April 1945 and got as far as Halifax, NS for deployment but the war ended before he could go overseas. After his discharge, he returned to civilian life and raised his family. He was a member of the Waterford Legion Branch 123 for 39 years and served as Past-President. Neil passed away on May 25, 1993.
