297 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PATRY, Peter J. Peter was born on March 12, 1934 in Toronto, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in November 1951 and served with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse in Korea and Japan during the Korean War. He was in Korea after the armistice had been concluded and patrolled at times behind the U.N. sector of the de-militarized zone. Upon his return to Canada in 1954, he married Shirley and was discharged in 1955. After the war, he spent over 35 years with the Toronto E.M.S. paramedics and continued to serve as an aide-de-camp to the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. His awards include the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Emergency Medical Service Exemplary Medal and the Emergency Medical Years of Service Medal. Peter has been a member of Highland Creek Branch 258 for 19 years. PEEBLES, Charles R. Charles was born on September 30, 1941 in Colborne, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in 1957 and served with the 33rd Medical Regiment as a gunner. After the war, he worked for General Motors of Canada and he retired in January 1994. Charles has been a member of Port Perry Legion Branch 419 for 5 years. PATERSON, Reginald J. Reginald was born on December 24, 1933 in Canaan Forks, NB. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on November 20, 1949 and served with the 8th Canadian Hussars in the United States, Egypt and Europe. He graduated from CMR, RCM, McGill University, the US Army Engineer School and the Canadian Forces Staff College in Toronto. After his discharge on December 24, 1984, he was facilities manager for De Havilland Aircraft, Toronto. Reginald has been a member of Fort York Legion Branch 165 for 25 years.
