277 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MILLER, Leonard M. Leonard was born in Buffalo, New York, United States on March 6, 1920. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on July 26, 1941. For much of the war, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Military Police, assisting with the transportation of pilots from various Commonwealth countries to bases in Canada. Leading Aircraftsman Miller was discharged on September 19, 1945 and returned to Hamilton where he met and married Elaine Cohen and they had three children. He enjoyed a very successful career in business, including lengthy positions as general manager of a radio station in Hamilton and Vice-President of an industrial lighting company. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the 1939-45 War Medal. Leonard passed away on June 2, 2013. MILLER, Ruth F. Ruth was born in Binscarth, MB on July 12, 1933. She enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on March 12, 1954 and served until November 16, 1954. After her discharge, she moved to Wawa, ON to work with her husband in his construction company. Ruth has been a member of Wawa Legion Branch 429 for 58 years. MILLER, Raymond G. Raymond was born on November 13, 1923 in Sault Ste Marie, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on January 4, 1943 and served with the Royal Canadian Regiment in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany during World War II. After his discharge on July 12, 1946, Raymond went on to work as a miner. His medals include the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. He was a member of Wawa Legion Branch 429 for 55 years. Raymond passed away on February 20, 2002.
