231 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND LEMARBRE, Marcel J. B. Marcel was born in Montreal, QC on July 27, 1940. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on June 27, 1957 and served with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in Palestine, Norway and Germany. He served with No. 450 Helicopter squadron and was awarded Member of the Order of Military Merit for performing beyond the call of duties. He served two tours with the United Nations Emergency Force and 18 years with NATO in Germany. He was discharged on August 1, 1992. After retirement, he served two years with the militia and 10 years as Commissionaires. Marcel is a member of Barrhaven Legion Branch 641. LILLIMAN, Franklin Seels Franklin was born on October 26, 1922 in London, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and served as a pilot but spent three years in Tofino, BC as a control tower operator during World War II. After his discharge in 1945, he worked a teacher in London, ON for 35 years. Franklin passed away on February 22, 2012. LEWIS, Ronald (John) W. Ronald was born on March 2, 1930 in Ottawa, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in 1952. He joined the 56th Transport Company of the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and began his service in Korea in 1953. Ronald served twice in Germany, from 1956 to 1958 and from 1962 to 1965 with the Canadian Army Brigade. In 1971, Ronald served six months in Alert, NU. Ronald received the Volunteer Service Medal, the Canadian Forces’ Decorations with Clasp, the Korea Medal and the NATO Medal with Bar. Ronald retired in 1977 and was a member of Richmond & District Legion Branch 625 for 41 years.
