209 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND KELL, Frederick Harry Frederick was born on March 19, 1893 in Nottawasaga Township, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Army on November 22, 1917 and served with the Cameron Highlanders of Canada in England and France during World War I. He was killed during an attack southwest of Cambrai in France on October 1, 1918 and is buried at Mill Switch British Cemetery in Tilloy-les-Cambrai, France. KELL, John Robert John was born on February 23, 1898 in Nottawasaga, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Army on January 21, 1916 and served with the 157th Battalion in England before transferring to the 125th Battalion in December 1916 and to the 4th Battalion in May 1917 and serving in England and France. He was poisoned and gassed in 1917 and spent 3 months in Hospitals in England, however, he remained in combat until the end of the war in 1919. After the war, he did farm work and was employed by Department of Highways for 10 years. John passed away on October 28, 1974. KELL, John A. C. “Jack” Jack was born in 1897 in Clover Hill, ON. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in March 1917 and served during World War I. He married Kathleen Elizabeth Ward on November 2, 1927 and had three daughters. He served as minister in Lemonville, Cochrane, Thistletown, Toronto and Durham. He retired in Owen Sound. He was secretary of Toronto Conference for 25 years and was granted an honorary decorate of Divinity. Jack passed away on August 8, 1988 in Owen Sound, ON.
