329 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WOOD, Hubert Thomas Hubert was born on June 24, 1890 in England. He enlisted in the Army’s Medical Corps on September 24, 1914 and served in Canada and France until his discharge on April 25, 1919. Hubert worked as an accountant after the war, retiring in 1960. He was a member of Toronto Legion Branch 59 before he passed away on November 18, 1967. WOODWARD, Robert E. Robert was born on June 25, 1920 in Bowmanville, Ontario. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on July 18, 1940 and served with the Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment in Canada, Britain and in the Central Mediterranean area during World War II. He was made a PLT cook and was in the Anti-tank Platoon. While fighting on the Hitler Line in Italy, he was killed in action on May 20, 1944. When he died, he left behind wife, Marion Crawford, and their two sons. WOODWARD, Robert A. Robert was born on September 23, 1942 in Bowmanville, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on November 15, 1961 and served with the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada and the Royal Canadian Regiment, Ontario Regiment, in Canada and Germany. He was discharged on December 8, 1964. Robert was awarded the Special Service Medal with NATO Bar and has been a member of Sir William Stephenson Legion Branch 637 for more than twenty-five years.
