321 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WEAVER, Thomas Edwin “Ted” Ted was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on December 29, 1919. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on October 8, 1940 and was stationed in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Fingal, Ontario before serving overseas in England. Upon his honourable release on September 21, 1945, he was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. Ted and his wife Patricia settled in Essex where he worked for the New York Central Railroad as an assistant signal maintainer. He also worked for Essex Farmers Oil Sales as a clerk until his retirement. Ted and Patricia had four children and was a member of Captain Brien Legion Branch 201 for thirtyseven years before he passed away on September 8, 1985. WELLWOOD (DAWSON), Fern Alice Fern was born in 1922. He joined the Army during World War II and served in Canada with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Fern passed away in 2011. WELLWOOD, Allan Millfred Allan was born in 1919 in Elmsdale, Hants County, Nova Scotia. He joined the Army during World War II and served in Canada with No. 37 Provost Corps for which he received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal on December 11, 1943. Allan passed away in 1972.
