317 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND WAGNER, Roy J. Roy was born in Stratford, Ontario on January 11, 1924. He enlisted in the Army on June 8, 1943 and served in England during World War II. He was later discharged on May 14, 1946 and was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. Roy was a member of Stratford Legion Branch 8 before he passed away on October 3, 1999. WARD, Calvin R. Calvin was born on July 15, 1923 in Brussels, Ontario. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 8, 1941 and served as a Leading Aircraftsman stationed in Gagetown, New Brunswick. He was discharged on October 4, 1945. He received his Service 1939-1945 Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. After his discharge, he married Florence Gay of Moncton, New Brunswick and moved back to Ontario where he worked at Uniroyal in Kitchener. Calvin was a member of Waterloo Legion Branch 530 for twenty years before he passed away on March 9, 1970. WALKER, Charles Charles was born in Manchester, United Kingdom on May 9, 1924. He joined the Merchant Navy on November 18, 1941 and served on the high seas during WWII. He experienced two instances of being torpedoed; once in the Caribbean Sea while aboard MN Calgarolite and another time near Sicily on MN Devis. He was discharged on October 31, 1946. Charles has been a member of Orillia Legion Branch 34 for thirty-two years.
