281 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND SEGIN, Dan D. Dan was born on August 14, 1932 in Hairy Hill, Alberta. He enlisted in the Army on November 28, 1948 and served with L.E. Regiment, Special Force 2 Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, with an Advance Party to Korea, with RCS of I, with Airborne and RSS Hamilton. Dan served in Canada, Korea and Cyprus and was wounded on a UN peacekeeping mission in Cyprus in 1974. Dan was discharged on August 14, 1984 and soon after, volunteered for Boy Scouts of Canada in various capacities. He also volunteered as Camp Director for Girl Guides of Canada and served as Zone Commander and District Commander in Ontario for The Royal Canadian Legion. He was awarded the American Legion Friendship Medal and the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. Dan was a member of Long Branch Legion Branch 101 for thirty-five years before he passed away on January 12, 2013. SEGUIN, Roland Roland was born in St. Andrew, Quebec on April 13, 1921. He enlisted on May 1, 1942 and served in Canada, England, France and Northwest Europe with the Canadian Infantry Corps, Régiment Maisonneuve. He was wounded by shrapnel and was discharged on January 29, 1946. Roland was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and the War Medal 1939-45. He was a member of Kapuskasing Legion Branch 85 for a number of years before he died on June 1, 1966. SEGUIN, Joseph H. Joseph was born on April 22, 1926 in Cobalt, Ontario. He joined the Army in 1944 and served in Canada with the Royal Regiment of Canada. Major Seguin was discharged in 1946. Joseph has been a member of Fork York Legion Branch 165 for seventeen years.
