253 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND PESIKAKA, Paul J. Paul was born in Bristol, England on July 29, 1943 and he died on March 27, 2013. He joined the Royal Air Force on February 1, 1961 and served at Kinloss, Scotland; Seletar, Singapore; Quantan, Malaya; Chen Mai, Thailand; Brunel, British North Borneo; Episkopi, Cyprus; and Scampton Bomber Command in Lincolnshire. He also spent time in the Military Police before being discharged on October 24, 1966. He was awarded the Campaign Medal with Clasp Borneo. Paul immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1967 then moved to Toronto a year later followed by a move to the Tottenham area in 1978. He was a member of Tottenham Legion Branch 329 for thirty-five years and served on various Executive positions, including 1st Vice President, President, Deputy Zone E 3 Commander, Zone E 3 Commander, Deputy District E Commander and District E Commander. In 1995, he was appointed to the Provincial Committee. PETTIT, Harold I. Harold was born in Sarnia, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on September 29, 1941 with the CPC and served in Italy, Belgium and England. For his service, he received the Service Star, the Italy Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. The youngest of eight brothers to serve, Harold was discharged on March 4, 1946. He married Joan Fellowes and was a member of Mount Dennis Legion Branch 31 before he passed away on December 21, 1989. PETTIGREW, William “Bill” Bill was born in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland on May 16, 1919. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in July 1940 and served in Canada, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Sicily and Italy with the 98th Anti-tank Battery, Canadian Army Special Forces. After his discharge on April 16, 1945, Bill returned to the Tiverton area where he farmed with his wife Helen and their family of eight children. After building a new home, Bill worked for Ontario Hydro at the Bruce Nuclear Power development near Tiverton. He was a member of Tiverton Ferris Legion Branch 430 and Kincardine Legion Branch 183 for fifty-one years before he passed away on August 28, 1987.
