231 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MORRISON, Carl Carl was born in Alliston, Ontario on January 13, 1927. He served in WWII from 1944-45 but his time was spent training and preparing to go overseas. Due to the war ending, it never materialized. Carl also served in the Reserves as an Infantry Officer with the Lincoln Welland Regiment in St. Catharines at the rank of Captain in the position of Adjutant. He later joined the regular force and served with the 1st Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment at Wolseley Barracks in London with the rank of Major. His medals include the War Medal 1939-45, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the Canadian Forces Decoration. He was a member of Sir Arthur Currie Legion Branch 116 for thirty-seven years before he died on June 2, 2011 at the age of 84. MURAKAMI, Donna L. Donna was born in Hamilton, Ontario on February 14, 1950. She enlisted in the Naval Reserve in March 1968 at HMCS Star as an Administrative Clerk. She has served with the Reserves in a variety of training and staff positions at both HMCS York and HMCS Star. Lieutenant Commander Murakami was the first female to hold the position of Executive Officer at HMCS York. She retired in December 2004 after thirty-five years of service and she was awarded the 50th and 60th Queen’s Jubilee Medals. Donna worked in nursing after graduating from Humber College with a Nursing Diploma but she changed jobs in 1975, hiring on into the Management Training Program at the Royal Bank of Canada. She retired at the end of 2009 after thirty-five years of employment. She currently volunteers at Sunnybrook Hospital with Fort York Legion Branch 165 where she has been a member for four years, as well as with WRENS and Nursing Sisters Association of Toronto. MOSSIP, William H. William was born on December 20, 1928 in Hamilton, Ontario. He enlisted in the 1st Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment on December 8, 1950 where he served in Canada and Korea until August 15, 1953. Once discharged, he joined the Ontario Provincial Police and he retired in 1987 from the North Bay Police Force as an Inspector. William has been a member of North Bay Legion Branch 23.
