221 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND MILLS, George M. George was born in Tara, Ontario on November 23, 1923. He joined the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals on February 11, 1942 and served in Canada, England and Normandy until his discharge on July 31, 1945. After the war, George worked for Canada Post and was a member of Owen Sound Legion Branch 6 before he passed away on June 18, 1996. MILLS, Wilfred F. Wilfred was born in Thorold, Ontario on October 6, 1944. At the age of 17, he joined the Reserves at the Armory in St. Catharines, Ontario in April 1961 and the Regular Army as soon as he turned 18. He was a craftsman in the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers stationed in Kingston, London and Soest, Germany where he served for three years. He returned to Canada in 1966 and was stationed at Petawawa, Ontario. Wilfred was discharged in September 1967. MILLS, Wilfred A. Wilfred was born in Merritton, Ontario on April 25, 1914. He joined the Army in 1944 and served with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry of the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps. Lieutenant Mills was killed in action in Holland on April 16, 1945 and is buried in a Canadian Military Cemetery in Holten, Holland.
