At 8:06 p.m. on October 16, 2010, Halifax Regional Police received a call about a shooting inside a residence in the 0-100 block of Jarvis Lane in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located 21-year-old Donald Stevenson who had been shot and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continue to investigate the case. Investigators believe that a man wearing a skull mask and dark clothing entered the residence and shot Donald. The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading northbound across Duffus Street onto Dartmouth Avenue where he got into the passenger seat of a silver SUV.The vehicle left northbound on Dartmouth Avenue, turning onto Rector Street in an unknown direction. Investigators do not believe this was a random act. Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Donald’s murder. Investigators hope that the passage of time encourages them to do the right thing and share what they know with police. It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation into Douglas’ murder. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020. Andrew Carter MORRIS Mr. Morris, from Eskasoni, was found dead on Beach Road in the early morning on August 9, 2021. A call from a local resident at 5:47am brought officers to the scene. Upon arrival it was determined that he was the victim of foul play. By the next day, the medical examiner confirmed he was the victim of homicide. Investigators believe that more than one person was involved in the offence.A year later, nobody has been charged over his death. Deborah Ann HUTCHINSON Ms. Hutchinson was last seen on video surveillance making a purchase at a local drive thru in the Sydney area on April 15, 2017. Investigators believe there are people who have information that has not been shared with police that could result in arrests and possible charges. Donald Derrick ‘Donny’ LOHNES On October 25, 2020, Mr. Lohnes was attacked and robbed at his home in Pine Grove, Lunenburg County. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later admitted to hospital where he died.The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide. Investigators believe there are people who may have information that could result in arrests and possible charges in relation to the death.
