Benjamin “Loka” Lokeny On July 20, 2017, members of the Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a male who was laying on the ground at the corner of Buddy Daye and Gottingen Streets, Halifax.When officers arrived, they located Benjamin Lokeny unconscious on the ground. The investigation determined that Benjamin Lokeny was the victim of a serious assault, he was taken to the QE11 hospital where he remained in a coma until August 28, 2017, when he died in hospital. Timothy John Kelly On December 12, 2009, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a male lying on the sidewalk in front of a residence on Abbot Drive, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and located Mr.Timothy Kelly, a 44 year old male, with multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Kelly was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased soon after. KaylinTodd Diggs On August 11, 2012, Halifax Regional Police responded to an assault at the corner of Argyle Street and Sackville Street.They found 26-year-old Kaylin Diggs unconscious and unresponsive in the crosswalk. Mr. Diggs was brought to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.The investigators learned that Mr. Diggs had left a Halifax bar and was injured as he tried to help a friend who was being assaulted by a group of males. Nathan Ross Cross On April 24, 2011, members of the RCMP responded to reports of gunshots fired and a male wounded on Churchill Terrace, North Preston, Nova Scotia.When officers arrived, they located a 21 year old, Nathan Cross, unconscious and unresponsive. Mr. Cross was transported to hospital by paramedics and passed away from the gunshot wound he received.The investigation revealed that Mr. Cross had been injured while standing outside with a group of individuals when a suspect ambushed the group, firing several shots at them. Jonathan Reader On August 7, 2005 at 4:10 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Radcliffe Drive and Dunbrack Street and found 19-year-old Jonathan Reader unconscious in the roadway. He was transported to hospital where he died a short time later from his injuries. The autopsy determined that Jonathan was the victim of a homicide inflicted by blunt force trauma and investigators believe the incident occurred at the location where he was found.
