Served with the Royal Navy from February 12, 1941 until December 15, 1941 when he was killed at age 20. He was one of three men from Grand Falls/Windsor who were lost when the Cruiser HMS Galatea was torpedoed in the Mediterranean. DECEASED GRANDY, Jesse Born in 1919 in Bay L’Argent. Served with the Royal Canadian Air Force 102 Marine Squadron from 1940 to 1945. He was Past President and a Life Member of Burin Branch #29 of The Royal Canadian Legion. DECEASED: February 18, 2003 GREEN, Bill Born in Lomond in 1921. Served with the Royal Canadian Air Force Squadron #7. In 1942, he was recruited to a Special Bomber Command Squadron called the Pathfinder Force. Area Served In: England. Received the Caterpillar Club Award and Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC).
