Served with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment from April 1, 1915 to November 23, 1917. He was a member of St. John’s Branch # 01 of The Royal Canadian Legion. He was injured in the Battle of Beaumont Hamel. DECEASED: March 29, 1976 MILLER, Ananias Service # 3863 Born in Portugal Cove, NL on February 2, 1900. Served with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment from 1914 to 1918. DECEASED: February 23, 1990 MILLER, Giles Service # 2206X Born on January 29, 1896 at Ireland’s Eye. He joined the Royal Naval Reserve on October 4, 1916 with training on the HMS Briton. He joined the HMS Victory 1 on November 15, 1916. From 1916 to January 3, 1919, he saw action in the North Atlantic on the HMS Armadale Castle, Pembrooke, North Atlantic. He spent 72 hours clinging to a piece of wood. He was discharged on April 10, 1919. DECEASED: Drowned in Jacksonville on March 24, 1923
