Military Service Recognition Book 20 Volume 18 The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary (Newfoundland & Labrador) Incorporated [CCGA (NL) Inc.] is a non-profit, volunteer organization used to augment maritime search and rescue resources in the Newfoundland and Labrador Region. CCGA members would like to encourage all fishers to keep safety in mind at all times. Having the proper safety equipment on board and in good operating order will not prevent a disaster from happening, but knowing its location and practicing its use will greatly increase your chances of survival. The CCGA will be celebrating 40 years of successful operation in 2018. Since the CCGA was founded in 1978, its members have been credited with participation in thousands of missions and saving countless lives. Thousands of people are helped each year in marine incidents and millions of dollars of property are saved. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 1 St. John’s. DECEASED: January 2nd, 1984 FENNELLY, Leo Joseph Service # 13528-H Born in Port Kirwan (Fermeuse) on April 22, 1931. He served with the Canadian Navy from 1949-54 and during the Korean War from 1950-51. He served on the HMCS Ontario and HMCS Cayuga, a destroyer that was part of the initial first dispatch of 3 ships by Canada to Korea. The ship was based out of Sasabo, Japan. Mr. Fennelly is residing in Mount Pearl, NL and is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 36 Mount Pearl. PAUL, Pte Alphonsus Born in Ferryland, NL on April 30th, 1930.
