www.legionnl.ca 173 Lest We Forget - Volume 16 The Rose Blanche Memorial Monument was erected in 1919 by the Loyal Orange Lodge, Invincible #1852 in memory of three fallen comrades who were also members of the RNR. Time had taken its toll and left the monument in sad condition, badly in need of restoration. With financial support from both levels of government, municipal, local business and local personnel, enough money was raised to cover all cost. On completion of the restoration, an additional granite stone was added with 44 names of all deceased members of the military from the immediate area. A Rededication and Unveiling Ceremony was held on August 7th with a parade of RCL members, RCMP, LOL, NL Rangers, Firemen and Regular Military Members followed by an informal M & G. The RCL 1st Vice, Comrade Berkley Lawrence, Western Zone Commander, Comrade Nathan Lehr, the Minister of Justice, Hon. Andrew Parsons and WCWO CFB Gander, CWO Diane Maidment took part in the Ceremony conducted by the Rev. Jeffrey Petten. Rose Blanche Memorial Monument
