Lest We Forget - Volume 16 www.legionnl.ca 163 TILLEY (THORNE), Daisy Holland Daisy, twin sister of Amelia Windsor, was born on July 3rd, 1897 in Dalbeattie, Scotland. She married William Tilley of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment on June 11th, 1918 in Ayr, Scotland. Daisy and William arrived in Newfoundland to reside in William’s hometown of Kelligrews. They were living on Bell Island when Daisy passed away at age 28 years, leaving her husband and 3 young children. Deceased: December 2nd, 1925. Buried: St. Boniface Anglican Cemetery, Bell Island, NL. TOBIN (GLOVER), Charlotte Frances Charlotte was born in Cleffaney, Ireland on May 10th, 1896. She worked tatting and crocheting Irish lace in Scotland for the Royal Family. Charlotte married Michael J. Tobin of the Royal Naval Reserve on December 9th, 1918 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Upon arrival to Newfoundland they lived in Michael’s hometown of Kingman’s Cove, Fermeuse, NL. They had one son Michael who served in the Royal Naval Reserve during WWII. Deceased: 1958. Buried: Mt.Carmel Cemetery, St. John’s, Newfoundland. WINDSOR (THORNE), Amelia Thomson Amelia was born on July 3rd, 1897 in Dalbeattie, Scotland. She married Wilfred Montgomery (Mont) Windsor on February 18th, 1919 in Ayr, Scotland. Amelia and her twin sister Daisy both married members of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. Upon arrival to Newfoundland, Amelia and Mont resided in his hometown of Aquaforte, Newfoundland. Amelia passed away at age 33, leaving her husband and 6 young children. Deceased: March 20th, 1931. Buried: Aquaforte Anglican Cemetery.
