Military Service Recognition Booklet 144 Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal Tuesday, November 5th, 2013, marked the 60th anniversary of the armistice that signaled the end of the Korean War. Ambassador Donghway CHOI (The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Canada) was at Branch #56 Pleasantville in St. Johnʼs that day, and presented the Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal to Newfoundland veterans of that conflict. The medal is awarded by the South Korean government to foreign military members who served in the Korean War. This is in recognition of their contributions in that conflict.
