Three Newfoundland survivors, George Squires, Lew Tilley and Art Taylor from H.M.S. Jervis Bay, aboard the Swedish ship Stureholm which rescued 65 survivors from the Jervis Bay, November 5th, 1940. Soon all crew members were to die. The Stureholm was torpedoed less than a month after this photo was taken. She plunged beneath the waves with the loss of all hands including Ben Marshall of Burin. Art Taylor is the only living Newfoundland survivor from the Jervis Bay action. H.M.S. JERVIS BAY Remembering 1939 1945
