He served with the Navy from 7th December, 1962 to 31st July, 1995. He is presently a member of Channel Branch # 11 of The Royal Canadian Legion. Warrant Officer Delores Donovan WO Delores Donovan enrol led in the Youth Training Employment Program on 19th November 1985, Upon completion of Basic Training she went to Ontario for QL3 Training Finance Clerk. In 1986 she enrol led into the Regular Force as a Finance Clerk. In July of 1982 she received the rank of Master Corporal. In may of 1985 she was deployed to Croatia for seven months. Upon return to Ottawa in 1996 she was promoted to Sergeant. In 2001 she was promoted to Warrant Officer. In 2004 she completed a course in French. In August of 2007 she was posted back in Ottawa where she is currently working with the ADM. Sergeant Michael Thomas Victor Denine, M.M.V., C.D. Edmonton, Alberta Medal of Military Valour Sergeant Denine, the son of Frank and Delores Denine, of Shea Heights, St. Johnʼs, Newfoundland was deployed with 8 Platoon, C Company, 1 PPCLI during Operation ARCHER in Afghanistan. On May 17, 2006, while sustaining concentrated rocket-propelled grenade, machine gun and small arms fire, the main cannon and the machine gun on his light armored vehicle malfunctioned. Under intense enemy fire, he recognized the immediate need to suppress the enemy fire and exited the air sentry hatch to man the pintle-mounted machine gun. Completely exposed to enemy fire, he laid down a high volume of suppressive fire, forcing the enemy to withdraw. Sergeant Denineʼs valiant action ensured mission success and likely saved the lives of his crew.
